This Snipa is one of the many local variants that used to exist in every fishing village.
In Viken, located between Helsingborg and Höganäs, a carvel-built snipa was developed that became relatively sleek and fast. We thought it would be a shame if this beautiful and exceptionally seaworthy boat were consigned to history, so we resumed its construction.
We considered that for those seeking a smaller boat with a bit of style and who do not want to rush at sea, she is ideal… Calm and secure, created over centuries to sail and haul nets in the often quite choppy waters of the Öresund and Kattegat. Large cockpit, low fuel costs, and a great sense of being on a boat.
The entire boat is built in hand-laid fiberglass-reinforced plastic, with only the tiller made of wood. Diesel engine type Vetus 2 cyl, 12 hp freshwater-cooled with a straight shaft. Shark fin (pulpit) at the bow, 1 cleat at the stern, 1 at the bow. Wooden tiller. Inner and outer hull, unsinkable. White all-round light (required for boats up to 7 m in length).
