Conam 65 Fly, 2009 – Modern, tough design and a lot of innovation. Spacious like an 80-footer, 10 berths in 6 cabins. Economical like a 50-footer, thanks to Volvo IPS drive and lightweight materials. What strikes you is the boat’s spaciousness and the fantastic flybridge that connects with the foredeck. This yacht was ordered with everything one could wish for in 2008, and when delivered in 2009, the price was over 3 million Euros. The yacht is 21.7 meters long and 5.6 meters wide with a draft of 1.6 meters. In the engine room, there are 4 Volvo Penta IPS600 engines that have run approximately 1100 hours. These 4 engines are much cheaper to service than 2 large CAT/MAN/MTU or whatever the alternative is. If something breaks, parts are available at reasonable prices worldwide. Incredibly reliable and easy to service with plenty of space to access for maintenance. The economical speed is 8-9 knots at 1200 rpm, consuming only 20 liters/hour together for 4 engines! This results in about 2.25-2.5 liters per nautical mile. Increasing the speed to 10-11 knots, around 1500 rpm, the consumption rises to 40 liters/hour, yielding just under 4 liters per nautical mile. The top speed is 28-30 knots, consuming a total of 320 liters/hour.
