About the boat
We are delighted to present a 1997 Princess 60 Fly with four cabins and generous social spaces. In recent years she has been upgraded and maintained with great care, and the work carried out is both extensive and well documented. The sellers are now ready for their next chapter and would like to see her with a new owner ahead of the 2027 season. They are also open to taking a smaller boat, motorhome or caravan in part exchange.
Princess has long enjoyed an international reputation for seaworthy, solidly built motor yachts, and the Princess 60 Fly belongs to the yard’s classic generation from the 1990s. She combines British craftsmanship with a layout equally suited to weekends along the coast and longer holidays on board.
At sea, twin MAN D2848 engines with a combined output of 1,600 hp and conventional shaft drive deliver confident, powerful performance. Side-Power bow and stern thrusters make this yacht of more than 18 metres surprisingly easy to manoeuvre in tight harbours, even with a small crew. A hydraulic passerelle, electric stern capstans with foot-pedal control and an electric anchor windlass make mooring and boarding straightforward.
On board, it is above all the space and versatility that impress. The bright saloon, with leather sofas and high-gloss wooden joinery, opens through a sliding glass door onto the aft deck, which becomes an extra room once the full canopy is in place. Beside the lower helm is a raised dining area with a round table. The well-equipped galley includes a dishwasher, an ice maker and ample fridge and freezer capacity. A staircase leads directly from the saloon up to the flybridge, with its large seating area, wet bar and second helm station. Below deck are the forward owner’s cabin with en-suite bathroom, two guest cabins that convert to doubles, and a second bathroom. Aft, there is a crew cabin.
What truly sets this example apart, however, is the work invested in recent years. She has been fitted with Garmin chartplotters at both helm stations, AIS, and a carbon-fibre panel with updated engine instruments on the flybridge. The carpets, headlining, lighting and curtains have been replaced, and the galley and bathrooms have been upgraded.
Technical maintenance has been a priority as well. The engines have been serviced regularly by a meticulous owner, the generator has been overhauled, the batteries and charging system have been renewed, and the hull bottom has been blasted and epoxy-treated. All work is listed with dates in the equipment list.
The sellers want the buyer to have a complete picture of the yacht. We have therefore prepared a list of known minor defects together with them. It covers older original equipment, among other things, and an autopilot that is currently out of service. The list will of course be shared with all serious prospective buyers. The yacht is in good condition, but like all larger yachts from the 1990s, she requires ongoing maintenance. The result is a spacious, well-equipped classic Princess, where the next owner takes over a yacht with a documented history and a significant share of the costly work already done.
